1) School Activities1. No class on 2/21 for President’s Day.
2. Volunteer Opportunity: Teacher’s Assistant for CFL Classroom, apply by 3/1/26
Not only do you get the satisfaction of helping children learn Chinese while developing leadership skills, you will also receive 80 hours of community service from MLCC. For student volunteers who have served for a full year, if recommended by the teacher and meeting all the requirements for excellent service, they may be eligible to apply to ANCCS for a certificate. Students in ninth grade and above are welcome to apply—please see below for the application form and timeline for training.
1) Fill out the application online by 3/1 using the following link.
2) Interview on 3/7 at10 am-1:00 pm at Saratoga High, room 502
3) Orientation on 3/14 at 11:40 am-12:40 pm at Saratoga High, room 502
4) Class observation (two sessions): Saratoga students will train at Russell Middle School in
Milpitas on 3/20, 3/27 and 4/3 Fri. at 6:35-9:10 pm; Milpitas students will train in Saratoga High School on 3/21, 3/28 and 4/4 Sat. at 9:05-11:30am
5) After training, complete the required observation report and submit by 4/11.
6) Wait for further notification from the school, to be sent out on 4/30.
7) If you are selected, please keep in mind that you must not be absent for more than 4 weeks
for the 2026-2027 school year in order to receive your 80 hours.
3. ANCCS Academic Contest School PreliminaryThis year, a total of 39 students signed up for the contest. Thanks to all the participants and parents for their efforts and support. First place winners are eligible to participate in the ANCCS contest.. Here is a list of the winners:

4. CFL (Chinese as a Foreign Language) Information Event on 3/21 in Saratoga High #502
The CFL program is specialized for students whose families do not speak Mandarin at home and is open to students ages six and older. Please invite your friends to join us for our Information Event on 3/21 at 9:30 am in room 502, and pass the information to family and friends who may be interested. For families in the East Bay, a CFL information session will also be held on 3/20 at 7pm at Russell Middle School in room #520. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
2) 2026-2027 Student Registration
On 3/13 each class will receive a specific link via email to register for the 2026-2027 school year. Continuing students are encouraged to submit their registration by 3/22. Tuition payment can be made either by check or PayPal. Siblings of continuing students are also welcome to register by 3/22. To register, please email us at mlccnews@mandarinschool.org Please note that no space will be reserved for continuing students or their siblings after 3/22.
Registration for new or transfer students will begin on 4/5. Registration forms will be available

3) Community Activities
1. Milpitas City Hall is celebrating the Lunar New Year on 2/13 at 6:00-8:30pm. Join us for an evening of live performances and free children’s crafts hosted by MLCC. Families are invited to enjoy hands-on activities such as scroll writing, Lunar New Year arts and crafts, Chinese Zodiac Game Wheel, and a themed photo booth. We look forward to celebrating with you!
2. Chinese Health Initiative is offering free online workshops on emotional well-being through its “Wednesday Lunch Chat” program. The sessions will be held on 2/25, 3/11 and 3/25 at 12:00 pm.
