Course Introduction

This program offers Chinese classes for non-Mandarin speaking students at beginning and intermediate levels. Students will learn to use the language through classroom exercises and small group activities. Classroom learning is supplemented by carefully designed homework assignments to reinforce language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The topic of each lesson focuses on everyday subjects and practical conversations. Our textbook series, Chinese Wonderland 1~6, is developed by MLCC and TKB (Taiwanese Knowledge Bank) in Taiwan for children who learn Chinese as a foreign language. Based on the model of communicative instruction and task-based activities, our CFL program provides a learning environment where students learn to use the language in the most fun and meaningful way.

To facilitate effective learning, our CFL instructors employ various teaching strategies and resources. They utilize interactive activities, multimedia materials, language games, and authentic texts to engage students and enhance their understanding and retention of the language. Additionally, our instructors are skilled in addressing the unique challenges faced by non-Mandarin speaking students, such as pronunciation difficulties, character recognition, and sentence structure.

CFL

This program is designed for non-Mandarin speaking students and is open to students of all ethnic groups. We currently offer CFL classes from Level K-9. Our CFL program is tailored to meet the unique needs of students who do not have prior knowledge or experience with Mandarin.

We understand that learning a new language can be a challenging endeavor, especially when it involves a complex and tonal language like Mandarin. Therefore, our CFL classes are structured in a way that promotes step-by-step language acquisition, starting from the basic foundations and gradually progressing to more advanced levels.

In our CFL classes, we emphasize the development of fundamental language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Our curriculum integrates these skills in a balanced and comprehensive manner, allowing students to practice and apply what they learn in a practical context. From basic greetings and everyday conversations to more complex grammar structures and vocabulary, our CFL classes cover a wide range of topics and language components to ensure a well-rounded language learning experience.
