School Holiday
Monday online heritage class: 10/13Friday online heritage class and CFL8/9 : 10/10 Friday Russell in-person class: 10/10
Saratoga High will be holding the PSAT on 10/11, and their classrooms won’t be available for our use. To keep both campuses aligned with the schedule, there is no class for Milpitas Friday groups on 10/10.
School Activities
1. Halloween Trick or Treat will be on 10/31. Students are welcome to wear costumes to school on 10/31. Treats will be handed out to students on campus after school.
2. Please help your child review the 100 Phrases from the previous level. 100 Phrases Evaluation will take place on 11/21, 12/5 and 12/12.
3. Please encourage your child to continue reading in Chinese at home; those who have logged 10 books by 1/16 for fall semester and 5/15 for spring semester will receive a reading certificate. You may consider alternatives such as audio books, e-books, and other online resources. It’s important to provide an environment where students can get as much exposure as possible, whether by reading or listening, to the Chinese language.
4. MLCC Teacher Training Program is now taking applications. Our 5-month training program consists of language teaching pedagogy. classroom observation, and student teaching, and the program fee is $600. Participants will participate in the observation forum, submit observation report and develop lesson plans. Priority will be given to candidates who have experience in teaching, or major in Chinese or foreign languages. Please email your resume to principal@mandarinschool.org if interested.
Parenting Workshops Hosted by Ms. Ai Ching LiuJoin us for a special three-session parenting workshop on Social Emotional Learning with Ms. Ai Ching Liu. The workshops will take place on 11/7,1/30, and 3/20 at 7:00 pm in room #520. Ms. Liu is a licensed psychologist from Taiwan with expertise in family relationships. She will share practical tools and insights to support your child’s emotional well-being and strengthen family connections. The workshops are free of charge and will be conducted in Mandarin. 4. 2026ANCCSAcademicContest
The 2026 Northern California Chinese School Academic Contest will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Lynbrook High School in San Jose. More information will be announced in the next newsletter.
5. El Camino Health Webinars on Emotional Well-Being
Chinese Health Initiative at El Camino Health will be offering a free online webinar on Raising Children in Single Parent Families on Oct.11, 2025, from 10:30-12:00pm. The webinar is free of charge and conducted in Mandarin via Zoom. To register, please visit
